ROOTED WITHIN

Unwind & Find Presence

PHILOSOPHY

Angie, therapeutic yoga teacher, on a green mat in the forest.

Cedar Coast Yoga is rooted in the Pacific Northwest where Angie calls home. When she was a young child, she remembers sitting in the back seat of her family's van as her parents drove through the Coquihalla to her mom’s family’s home in Coquitlam. Staring out at the mountains and forests, she felt a deep connection to the mountainous landscape.

Fast forward, Angie makes a weekly journey to the mountains from Vancouver to replenish and reconnect. This is where she finds her truth, her inspiration, her teachings. She has found home amongst the trees, streams, cliffs and ocean.

Cedar Coast Yoga pays homage to the idea of home. Home is a space that you can feel safe to be vulnerable, to grow, to connect. A place to build memories and a place we can truly be ourselves. Home does not have to be within four walls, but can be a place where we come to know our true selves. This is a place that we all hold within ourselves and which yoga allows us to remember through all of its beautiful practices.

"Root yourself in this earth and it will root itself in you."

Therapeutic Yoga

Empower Yourself to Live Well

Personalized Holistic Approach

A personalized therapeutic modality designed to help you reach your physical, mental and/or emotional goals. Blending Western psychology and anatomy with ancient yogic techniques and philosophies, it is a client-led holistic modality that empowers you to take an active role in your healing.

Finding the Root

Throughout the session, compassionate curiosity will play a key role to help find what is at the root of the concerns you are experiencing. Working with the Integrated Systems Model (Lee & Lee), Angie will help you uncover what is the driver of your pain or discomfort and help you put a protocol together specifically for you and your body.

Supporting Well-Being

Therapeutic Yoga can be used as a complementary approach to support individuals with various health concerns. Whether you are wanting to improve your mobility and posture, managing chronic pain, or supporting yourself through anxiety or depression, Therapeutic Yoga may benefit you physically, mentally and emotionally.

Embodied Healing

Throughout our time together, you will experience yoga practices and philosophies in an embodied way. You'll likely learn the science behind what we are working on from your cardiovascular system to nervous system but never at the expense of encouraging self-care and relaxation in support of healing.

Therapeutic Yoga is currently offered in-person Sundays at Rae Physiotherapy + Pilates (Vancouver) or online. Kindly note that all inquiries and bookings for Therapeutic Yoga are done through Cedar Coast Yoga regardless of location.

"The session was ever thing I could ask for - educational, healing, empowering. I was able to see anger, stress, anxiety in my body and tissues and was able to release some of it/a lot of it. I am also taking home a short practice I could use for self-help and relaxation.
Thank you Angie!"

I humbly acknowledge that the ancient practices of yoga are from a culture that is not my own and am forever grateful for my teachers and their teachers for passing on this beautiful tradition. I would also like to acknowledge with gratitude that I live, work, play and practice on the unceded territory of the xÊ·mÉ™θkÊ·É™yÌ“É™m (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and sÉ™lilwÉ™taɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations Peoples (known as Vancouver, BC).
